Emergency Marketing For Restaurants

3 Emergency Marketing Steps Your Restaurant Can Take During Covid-19 AKA (Coronavirus)

What kind of emergency marketing procedures is your restaurant taking during the COVID-19 Pandemic?

Are you waiting for someone to come and save you or are you taking the proper steps to ensure the survival of your restaurant.

(There may be complications such as government orders to shut down, but if you are lucky enough to still be open, then you must take action now!)

3 Emergency Marketing steps your restaurant can take:

1) First you must ensure the safety of your employees and customers!

In order to do this, you have to follow the CDC guidelines here:

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/guidance-business-response.html

-Here are some of our recommendations you can follow, theses are just recommendations as we are not health professionals.

a) Monitor the health of your employees and make sure they do not come to work if they are sick

b) Make sure your restaurant is disinfected and cleaned after every customer.

c) Take only card payments and make sure you have hand sanitizer or some sort of disinfectant your customer's can use, so they can clean their hands after touching their card.

d) Make sure all your employees wear masks. (If they do not have a mask, they can use a bandanna or some sort of cloth material to cover their mouth and nose.)

e) Every employee should wear gloves

f) Customers that do not have masks, should wait inside their car and have their meals delivered to their car.

*We recently went to Chick-Fil-A and they really care about their employee and customers. We noticed that they all wear masks, gloves and they make the customer slide their card when they pay for their meals.*

2) Remind your customers that you are still open for business on social media

More people are online now more than ever due to the Coronavirus and this is your perfect opportunity to remind old customers you are still open or bring in new customers!

-You can use facebook and instagram to share how your business is operating during COVID-19. (Emergency Marketing strategy for restaurants)

> Here is an example from one of our clients:

a) They are a local restaurant and we worked together to create content on the procedures the restaurant is taking to ensure the safety of their customers. We created a post saying, "Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we are only offering takeout! We also provide curbside pickup, which is the process of delivering the meals to the customers vehicle."

b) They are also reminding their customers that they are still open by creating content, special promotions.

Their customers are sharing that they are still open and they get a lot of support from their community. People love helping others in times of crisis and especially small businesses.

3) Add Delivery services such as Uber Eats and Doordash!

Uber Eats and Doordash are platforms that can help your business operate without having your own delivery driver. They take a percentage depending on the platform you choose to work with, but they can help cover some overhead costs of your restaurant.

-We helped restaurants set-up Uber Eats by adding menu items, getting in contact with representatives, and promoting on social media that they have Uber Eats available.

We know that during the COVID-19 Pandemic it can be tough, but we believe that taking action is better than doing nothing.

If your restaurant or essential business is still open, we encourage you to take the proper procedures to protect your business, health of your employees/customers and most importantly your family.
